Together, we're on the right path
The Tuckahoe Creek Trail is an approximately 6 mile long multi use trail stretching from W Broad St to Patterson Ave along the Goochland and Henrico County line.
A multi use trail of this magnitude has the opportunity to connect two thriving Virginia communities and give access to a historic waterway that transported coal from the Gayton Coal Mines down the Tuckahoe Canal to factories and businesses that created the foundation of modern Metro Richmond.
Furthermore, Tuckahoe Creek Trail would connect the many residences with commerce centers of West Creek and Henrico County. Imagine biking from Wilde Lake Apartments to work at Capital One or walking from your condo in Lakewood Retirement Community to Hardywood Park Craft Brewery or jogging from your home in Tuckahoe Village West to the Starbucks at GreenGate.

In the 1800’s the Tuckahoe Creek Navigation Company created a 6.5 miles long canal through the coal fields of Goochland and Henrico County from Broad Branch down to Tuckahoe Island. It was built for coal batteaux to transport coal down to the James River & Kanawha Canal to be later before traveling to Richmond and to other major industrial cities like Boston and New York. This area's canals and railroads fueled the growth of our nation and nobody even knows about it.
It was said in in the mid-1800’s that the Tuckahoe Creek Navigation Company was one of the best investments in the state.
It’s time to return the favor and invest into a Tuckahoe Creek Trail.
